Sunday Racing Results

To All -

Here are two more weeks of race results from Sundays.

Folks - this is really SAD. Only four Cruising boats have raced on Sundays
and at the Memorial Day Regatta, and two of those four boats are not from
Nyack Boat Club! We're as guilty as anyone because we have had home
commitments since we launched our boat in April. I know. Excuses are easy,
but that's the truth. So here's why you might want to race on Sundays:

  • You get to meet the rest of the racing members of the Nyack Boat

Club one design fleets. They are a fine bunch and want to meet you, too.

  • Afternoon winds are more reliable than Wednesday Night racing.

  • Sunday racing is laid back, more social, and the Snack Bar is open

longer.

  • It's easier to get a tan during the day than in the evening.

  • You don't have to go to work the next morning.

  • Launch service is always waiting for you.

  • Usually there is more than one race, so you get in lots of

practice.

  • Sailing Sundays are a great opportunity to pay back social

commitments to your neighbors and friends, and business buddies.

  • Finally, every time you race you add points towards the NBC annual

racing awards composed of finishes for Sundays, Wednesdays, and Regattas.
All racing points are added up at the end of the year to determine who the
winners are in both spinnaker and non-spinnaker divisions. The more you race
the better you do. Racing on Wednesdays is not enough. Winning awards is far
more than coming in 1st - it's consistently coming out to race.

If a lack of crew is keeping you from Sunday racing, let us know and we'll
try to get you helping hands.

See you on the water. Sundays after July 4th weekends. Promise!
