Cruising Fleet Leader Board

To fellow racers -

The racing leader board was put up on the patio last year in the interest of
scoring transparency. The point was to keep everybody up to date each week
as Wednesday Night racing progressed through the season. No one was
surprised at the end of the season who our winners were.

However, it has come to our attention that some racers have dropped out of
racing this year because they don't like to be included on the leader board.
They enjoy racing, but don't like the public display of not winning or being
at the back of the pack.

We hear you, but aren't sure how to resolve the issue. One option might be
to just list the top boats each week, not the full Fleet who raced. Another
option might be to scrap the leader board (maybe the Club might like to buy
the Board from us?), and e-mail the leader board information each week with
results. That way everyone will have the data, but it wouldn't be as public.

The point here is we are interested in your opinions on this matter. And we
certainly don't want to lose racers because of a dumb leader board. Please
e-mail Lee or John with your thoughts. Also, please think twice before you
hit REPLY ALL and spam everyone!
