To All -

Happy Solstice everybody. A long, lovely evening with winds from 1) the
west, 2) the south, 3) the east, 4) the north, and 5) the west. Don't like
the conditions? Hang around a few minutes. A truly crazy night on the river
that tried our patience more than once. The results are attached. As usual,
please let me know of any mistakes or changes. Most of the spinnaker fleet
completed course #12 within the two hour time limit.

But that was not the case for the non-spinnaker group. Only Encore completed
the course within the two hour time limit. However, if you remember last
winter Morris proposed (at the annual racing meeting) that the 2017 Sailing
Instruction 15.2 should read: Any boat that has not finished within 45
minutes of the first finisher in her fleet, or the two-hour time limit,
whichever is longer, shall be scored TLE (time limit expired). We used to
have the time limit of 30 minutes after the 1st finisher. Thus, with the new
SI 15.2, the non-spinnaker drop dead time tonight was 21:11:24 (Encore's
time + 30 minutes) and everyone made it under the wire. Thank you Morris!
And thank you Encore for completing the race and setting up a goal for the
rest of us.

Remember Sunday, July 2nd are the Fireworks at Bowline Point in Haverstraw.
If you have never gone, this is a spectacular evening to raft up overnight
with your fellow sailors and have a wonderful time. When the weather
cooperates, this is an evening of great fun for the kids and many good
memories. Let me know if you are interested, and I'll put you on the e-mail
list for updates and further information.

Meantime, see you on the water.
